Our performance surprised Zamalek - Dreams FC coach Karim Zito

Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has expressed his belief that Zamalek was taken aback by his team's game plan during Sunday's CAF Confederation Cup semi-final first leg.

Zito, who led the FA Cup champions to a goalless draw against Zamalek at the Cairo International Stadium, revealed to JoySports upon his arrival at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday afternoon that their tactics caught Zamalek off guard.

"They were surprised by our [performance levels]. When you look at our position in the league, it will give you a different impression about Dreams.

"They saw us as small boys but before they realized, they had to push and push but could not get it."

The draw on Sunday marked the first time in twenty-seven years that a Ghanaian club has secured such a result against Zamalek. The last instance was when Obuasi Goldfields, who had clinched the Ghana Premier League for three consecutive seasons and were finalists in the Champions League that year, achieved a similar feat.
