Former Black Stars player, James Kuuku Dadzie has shared his view on why Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko continue to struggle.

According to him, this is because players of both clubs are now just average players, unlike in the past when they had top-quality players.

Speaking to Akoma FM on Monday, July 8, James Kuuku Dadzie said this problem runs through all the clubs in the Ghana Premier League.

“Football nowadays is not about names. Kotoko and Hearts are struggling because the league’s players are average and of comparable quality,” James Kuuku Dadzie shared.

In the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, both Asante Kotoko could not properly compete.

At the end of the campaign, both Ghanaian giants finished outside the top four.

While Asante Kotoko managed to secure a 6th-place finish in the Ghana Premier League last season, Hearts of Oak poorly settled for 14th.

The two teams are currently in camp preparing for a clash in the Democracy Cup match on July 17.
