Poor pitches ruining Ghana Premier League – Paa Kwesi Fabin

Published on: 01 August 2023

Head coach of Legon Cities, Paa Kwesi Fabin has clamored for an improvement in pitches in order to make the Ghana Premier League better.

Many Premier League players and coaches have raised concerns over this age-long problem of the bad state of pitches across most Premier League venues.

Meanwhile, Fabin, who recently switched to Legon Cities has expressed the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League was very competitive.

“Last season, the league was very competitive. I disagree with people who say otherwise. I feel we have to get good pitches. If we can get good pitches all over the country, we will see a lot of development in our game.” He told Kessben FM.

The Ogya Boys were on course to clinch their third Premier League title after staying on top of the league standings for several weeks but unfortunately lost steam towards the end of the season. Medeama SC took advantage of their slip-up to win their first ever league title.

Aduana Stars finished the season in 2nd position on the league standings with 55 points, 5 points behind champions Medeama.

Meanwhile, the experienced tactician will lead Legon Cities, who finished 9th last season in the upcoming campaign. He will hope to make an immediate impact at the club.
