PREMIER - Arteta on Aubameyang: we demand more

Published on: 19 November 2021

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, has advised Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not to rest on his laurels, calling for the Gabonese forward to score more goals.

As they prepare for the acid test of their resurgence at Liverpool on Saturday, Arteta's side is on an eight-match unbeaten run in the Premier League.

With three goals in his last six games, Arsenal captain Aubameyang has played a significant part in the Gunners' surge to fifth position.

"He's getting in a great position, he's having chances, and things will happen there," Arteta told reporters on Friday, determined not to let Aubameyang lose concentration.

"Again, he has already scored quite a lot of goals, but we always want more and we demand more.

"But he needs to continue the form that he's in and the attitude that he's showing, not only around the team but around the club as well."
