Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's career is dangling by a thread following an "embarrassing" 4-1 loss to Watford on Saturday.

United's fifth defeat in seven Premier League games adds to the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the club considers whether or not to fire him.

Claudio Ranieri's tenacious Watford side out-fought and out-thought them, coming into the match having lost four of their previous five league games.

Watford dominated the first half and deservedly led by two goals at the break, thanks to strikes from Joshua King and Ismaila Sarr.

Early in the second half, substitute Donny van de Beek pulled a goal back for the visitors, but they were unable to find an equaliser, and captain Harry Maguire was sent off with little over 20 minutes remaining.

Substitute With a late third, Joao Pedro put United's dreams to rest, and Emmanuel Dennis added salt to Solskjaer's wounds.
