Former Ghana striker Ransford Osei said he will prevent his son from playing for Ghana at any level in football, citing a perceived corrupt system within the country's national teams.

The now 32-year-old has been vocal about his bitter experience with the Ghanaian football setup, stated that he would take every measure possible to ensure that his children do not go through similar hardships.

He didn't go into details about what is causing his discontent apart from corruption but also mentioned the bad treatment they were subjected to after the 2007 U17 World Cup.

"I'm no longer playing active football, so I can say it," Osei emphasized during an interview with Kings Jersey TV.

"If my son becomes a footballer, I will never allow him to play for any Ghanaian national team. I'm being real. Something happened during my playing days that led to me not receiving any Black Stars call-up.

"Someone did something that incurred my hatred in the presence of influential figures in football."
