Richmond Lamptey's transfer to APR FC to fetch Asante Kotoko $150,000
Asante Kotoko reportedly expected to receive $150,000 from the transfer of midfielder Richmond Lamptey to Rwandan champions Armeé Patriotique Rwandaise FC, according to recent reports.
The playmaker, who had been a cornerstone at the Porcupine Warriors, recently departed to join APR FC on a two-year deal.
Akoma FM disclosed that Asante Kotoko agreed to the $150,000 transfer fee for the sale of the Black Stars midfielder.
Lamptey had spent three successful seasons in Kumasi, playing a pivotal role in their league-winning campaign during the 2021/22 season.
Despite encountering injuries and setbacks in the past season, the 27-year-old still managed to feature in 17 league matches, contributing five assists.
APR FC clinched their 22nd championship title with an impressive unbeaten streak, topping the table with 68 points after 30 matches in the recently concluded season.
Following the acquisition of Richmond Lamptey, APR FC is anticipated to reinforce their squad further in preparation for the upcoming season, including gearing up for the 2024/25 CAF Champions League campaign.
