Riyad Mahrez is certain that he will take home the African Footballer of the Year award

Manchester City's star winger, Riyad Mahrez, is leaving no room for doubt as he asserts his certainty about clinching the prestigious African Footballer of the Year award.

The Algerian maestro, known for his dazzling skills and crucial contributions on the field, is poised with conviction as the anticipation builds ahead of the highly anticipated ceremony.

Mahrez's stellar performances throughout the year have not only solidified his standing as one of Africa's football elite but have also fueled his belief that the coveted accolade is destined to be in his hands.

"I've been a key player in the Premier League and FA Cup, a little less so in the Champions League, but in recent years I've always been important in this competition. It's only logical that I should be rewarded with this award," he told 'L'Equipe.

"Normally, there's always Mane and Salah, but last year it was a bit more difficult for them collectively. It's true that he won the Europa League, but that's nothing compared to a historic treble with Manchester City. So we'll see..." he added.
