Samartex leadership and Speaker of Parliament
Ghana Premier League champions Samartex paid a visit to the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
During their visit to his office, the team proudly presented the prestigious league trophy, which they had won for the very first time in their history.
The Samartex delegation was led by the highly respected Paramount Chief of Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area, Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, owner and bankroller of the team, Richard Duah Nsenkyire, the General Manager, Edmund Ackah and a section of the playing body.
The team expressed their gratitude to Speaker Alban Bagbin for receiving them and allowing them the honour of presenting him with the highly coveted league trophy.
Meanwhile, Speaker Alban Bagbin congratulated the team for their historic triumph of the domestic top-flight.
Samartex emerged as winners of the Ghana Premier League in the recently concluded season, dethroning Medeama.
Having clinched the Premier League title, the Timber giants will represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League campaign next season.
They have been paired against Cameroonian outfit Victoria United in the preliminary round of the qualifiers scheduled for next month.
