Sherif Mohammed has signed for Ethiopian club Mekele 70 Enderta FC after leaving Asante Kotoko, per GHANAsoccernet.com.

The 22-year-old center-back joins the Ethiopian Premier League side on a one-year deal, with an option to extend after the 2024/25 season.

Mohammed makes the move to Mekele on a free transfer after leaving Kotoko at the end of the last season, where he made 11 appearances in the Ghana Premier League.

He joined the Porcupine Warriors in August 2022 from EurAfrica FC after an unsuccessful trial in France.

During his time with Kotoko, Mohammed played 20 matches in the Ghana Premiership and featured in two games in the CAF Champions League preliminary round, performances that earned him a call-up to the Ghana national team.

Mohammed was part of Ghana’s squad for the 2022 CHAN tournament in Algeria, where he played in the 2-0 quarter-final loss to Niger.

He is the second Kotoko player to move to Ethiopia this transfer window, following goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad’s signing with Ethiopia Coffee FC.
