In the English Championship game, the Black Stars forward was handed a starting role after a long time.

He managed to put in a good shift and helped his team secure a 1-1 draw at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking after the game, Southampton manager Russel Martin explained his reason for starting Kamaldeen Sulemana.

"He trained really well. He deserved to play. He did some really good stuff and did some stuff that he needs to improve on but he hasn’t played for a long time,” the Saints manager said.

The manager further indicated that although Kamaldeen Sulemana did well, he needs to keep working hard to improve his game.

"I’m pleased he was out there and did the things that he did. There are some really brilliant bits in there.

"The way he’s trained over the last month or two has been outstanding. So hopefully today will be good for him moving forward,” Manager Russel Martin said.
