Striker Welbeck Takyi arrives in Tarkwa to hold potential transfer talks with Medeama SC

Tano Bofoakwa livewire, Welbeck Takyi has arrived in the Western Region to hold talks with Medeama SC over a potential transfer to the club.

Takyi, 21, had a superb season in the just ended Division One League with Tano Bofoakwa where he helped the club placed second after missing out on qualification to top-flight football on the final day losing 1-0 to rivals Brong Ahafo United.

Medeama, who had a poor campaign are seeking to improve their squad ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup campaign.

Takyi will meet the President of the club, Mr Moses Armah Parker to hold talks over his transfer to the Yellow and Mauve next season.

The young attacker contributed to 20 goals, scoring 14 and assisting 6 times in 27 games he featured.

The lanky forward has also been on the radar of top clubs from Belgium, Israel, Estonia  and Egypt.

Also Ghana Premier League giants Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold have also handed in their request to snatch the goal poacher.

Medeama SC however finished the 2020/21 football season at the 5th position and exited the MTN FA Cup at the semifinal.
