Ghana youngster Ibrahim Sulemana played a crucial role for Cagliari in their Serie A match against his former club, Hellas Verona, on Monday.

He entered the game as a substitute and scored his second goal of the season, making his first appearance in over a month.

The 20-year-old was brought on by Claudio Renieri to replace Alessandro Deiola while Cagliari was trailing at the Unipol Domus Stadium in a Serie A round 30 clash.

Frederico Bonazzoli opened the scoring for Hellas Verona after just thirty minutes, with another goal disallowed shortly after the break.

Sulemana swiftly equalized for Cagliari two minutes after coming on, securing a 1-1 draw, taking them to 27 points as they continue their quest to survive relegation in the Italian Serie A.

In the current season, he has featured in 14 Serie A games, starting in 11 and scoring two goals.

Sulemana made the move to Cagliari from Hellas Verona in the summer following the latter's promotion to Serie A.
