Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston admits there is more room for improvement despite his side's emphatic victory over Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B U17 Africa Cup of Nations opener.

The Black Starlets prevailed with a resounding 5-1 win over their neighbours at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.

Goals from Godfred Sarpong, Harve Gbafa, Mark Kagawa Mensah and Joseph Narbi’s brace ensured the Black Starlets cruised to an emphatic victory on Wednesday.

But the former Ghana international does not want his side to be carried away by the heavy win.

“There is more room for improvement. We will go back and analyze the game. We have to know the good and bad side of the team before our next game. We will watch the video again and make sure we correct our mistakes in the game and hopefully, in the next it will work perfectly”

The Black Starlets will next Benin in their second game of the competition.

The Ghana U17 are aiming to secure qualification to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in seven years. The last time Ghana participated in the AFCON was back in 2017.
