WAFU B Championship: Two-goal hero Joseph Narbi reveals crucial half-time talk in Black Starlets big win over Ivory Coast

Talented winger, Joseph Narbi has eulogized Black Starlets coach Laryea Kingston halt-time talk for his outfit emphatic win over Ivory Coast in the WAFU Zone B U17 Africa Cup of Nations opener.

Narbi bagged brace to inspire the Black Starlets to a 5-1 win over their neighbours at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in Legon.

Goals from Godfred Sarpong, Harve Gbafa, Mark Kagawa Mensah and Joseph Narbi’s brace ensured the Black Starlets cruised to an emphatic victory on Wednesday.

Narbi opened the scoring with a sensational half-volley before adding his second moments later before the break.

“I am very happy to win this award. I am also happy that out of 22 players, I am the one who was selected for the best player award. I am grateful to the fans and my coaches for this award”

“The first half didn’t go as expected but the good thing is that we had an early goal. During the halftime break, the coach told us what to do, we did exactly that and we won the game” he said.

The Black Starlets will next Benin in their second game of the competition.

The Ghana U17 are aiming to secure qualification to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in seven years. The last time Ghana participated in the AFCON was back in 2017.
