WAFU B Championship: We’ll win the trophy for Ghanaians - Black Starlets winger Joseph Narbi

Black Starlets winger Joseph Narbi is confident about his outfit chances of winning the WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations after a flying start to the competition.

The Black Starlets started the competition on a flying note after thrashing the Ivorians 5-1 at the Legon Sports Stadium.

Narbi, who emerged as the Man of the Match bagged brace to inspire the Black Starlets to an emphatic victory at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon on Wednesday.

Speaking after the game, the talented winger promised his side will win the trophy for Ghanaians.

"We know Ivory Coast is a stronger side but we respect the other teams. We go into every game with the mentality of winning, so we will be ready for Benin," said the teen sensation after the match.

"The message I have for Ghanaians is that I promise them that we will win the trophy for them so they will be happy for us to also be happy," he added.

The Black Starlets will next Benin in their second game of the competition.

The Ghana U17 are aiming to secure qualification to the U17 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in seven years. The last time Ghana participated in the AFCON was back in 2017.
