Head Coach of Ghana’s national Under 17 team the Black Starlets, Paa Kwesi Fabin says they have had good preparations ahead of Africa U-17 championship to be played in Gabon next month.

The Black Starlets have been preparing ahead of the championship with International friendlies against Tanzania and Niger.

Ghana drew with Tanzania in a pulsating game before the beat Niger in a two legged affair in Ghana.

‘’It’s been good so far. For the first time we have played three international friendlies ahead of a championship and that has really brought out our strength and weaknesses so we can now work on our strength and weakness,’’ he said on Sport Xtra.

Ghana is in group A with Gabon, Guinea and Cameroon and Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin says he is working on getting detailed information about his opponents.

‘’We have little information about our opponents but fortunately just yesterday I received videos of our opponents qualifying matches from a friend. We are going to get a good look at them, watch it together with the players and we will be able to map up strategies against the.’’ He added.

The tournament which will be hosted in Gabon is being criticized because of the pitches that are going to be used. During AFCON 2017 in Gabon, majority of attention was placed on the poor nature of the turf but Coach Fabin has no worries about the pitches.

“If you been to pampram then you know that if we have been able to train there then we can play anywhere.’

Ghana will open their account at the tournament against rivals Cameroon on May 14.
