In a heartfelt admission of regret and accountability, prolific striker Emmanuel Yeboah issued an earnest apology to the nation, addressing Ghanaians directly following the early elimination of the Black Meteors from the Afcon U-23 tournament.

With a heavy heart and a profound sense of disappointment, Yeboah humbly acknowledged the team's shortcomings, seeking solace and understanding from a nation that had placed its hopes and dreams in its hands.

The Black Meteors of Ghana beat Congo 3-2 in their first game.

In the second game, Ghana were humiliated 5-1 by the host nation. The third game ended 1-1 after Emmanuel Yeboah gave Ghana the lead.

"In everything we have to give thanks to God he only knows what is good for his children. Secondly I apologize to Ghanaians that we have disappointed them we couldn't go to were they expected us to reach," he told Peace FM as monitored by Footballghana.com

"We plead wth them that they should forgive us that next time we will see how to go about things. This tournament when we came we started good we thought everything was going well we lost our second game when we were in camp we motivated ourselves that the last game we wont joke with it,"

"When the game came it is not what we wanted a lot of things didn't go our way you can see that a lot of things favoured Guinea so that is how we will take it. It is not a serious injury but the coaches thought if I continued to play it wont be good that is why I was substituted,"
