Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum was left to rue missed chances following his outfit stalemate against Bechem United in the week 7 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.

Peter Acquah scored his debut goal for the Porcupine Warriors before evergreen Augustine Okrah pulled parity for the visitors as the game ended 1-1 at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors were well on top in the first half and had chances to build on their one-goal lead before Okrah scored to draw Bechem United level in the second half.

After the game, Ogum asserted his side should have buried the game in the first half considering the chances that came their way.

“I think we played well in the first half, created a lot chances which we should have ended the game in the first half but we didn’t take our chances. In the second half, they got a goal that changed the complexity of the game but I’m okay”

“I think the issue was their equalizer, I think that gave them some energy, it was a psychological goal which gave them some energy. We needed to be mentality strong to forge ahead to create the chances and score. For the intensity, I think we were able to match with the intensity of the game, just the goal that I think disturbed the players and that was why they behave the way they behaved” he said.

Asante Kotoko are still locked 7th on the table with 10 points while United are 12th with eight points.
