William Opoku chooses MLS over Kotoko SC

Communication Director for Ghana Premier League side Karela United FC, Eric Aligidede has disclosed that Asante Kotoko SC target William Opoku has opted a move to MLS than Kotoko SC.

The admirable forward who doubles as captain for the Nzema based Karela United FC is on the ladder of Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC as an addition as they augment the squad for CAF Campaign.

However, the player prefers a move abroad than in the local league, haven plied in Ghana for several years.

Eric Aligidede in an interview with Kumasi based Agyenkwa FM said emphatically that, management of Karela has contacted the player who is willing to join the Reds but considers a move to the MLS as paramount.

Following his Dream of playing for the Ghana national team.

"The player was willing to play for Asante Kotoko SC but he is considering the MLS as the most priority," He says he has a greater ambition of playing for the National team (Black Stars) and that the MLS will help him attain those feet".

"We confronted William Opoku Mensah and he made it clear that he has had a feel of playing in Ghana and for Kotoko but needs to continue elsewhere and that he opted for a move to the USA", Eric added.

The Administrative Manager for Karela United, Eric Aligidede, however, confirmed that the Porcupine Warriors has contacted them for the services of William Opoku Mensah.

"Kotoko have communicated to us on the acquisition of the service of our player Williams Opoku Mensah but we are now facing a difficult challenge because United State American outfit alert us that they also want him"
