World Cup 2022: Former Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil praises the Moroccan national team
Mesut Ozil, a former midfielder for Real Madrid, declared his admiration for the Moroccan national team's World Cup performance in Qatar.
The Lions squad made history by being the first Arab and African side to go to the World Cup's last four; unfortunately, they fell to France 2-0 on Wednesday.
Mesut Ozil took to his official Twitter page to tweet: "Morocco made history with its wonderful performances. It tried with all its capabilities in the match against France ."
He urged on the Moroccan national team not to be embarrassed of what it displayed in front of its historic achievement, stressing that it was magnificent, and that it made all Moroccans proud of their players .
Ozil was among the superstars that attended the match at Al-Bayt Stadium.
Morocco will meet Croatia on Saturday to determine the third-place finisher in the World Cup in Qatar .
