Ghana's Under-23 squad has a new addition in the form of 18-year-old Zubairu Ibrahim. The former Ghana U20 captain and current player for Montenegrin side Jedinstvo has been called up to the squad for the U-23 AFCON qualifier against Algeria.

Coach Ibrahim Tanko believes that Zubairu's talent and skill will add depth to the team's attack as they prepare to face the North African side.

Zubairu has made a strong start to his career at Jedinstvo, scoring three goals and assisting two in just seven games.

Ghana will face Algeria in the final qualifying round of the 2023 CAF U23 Cup of Nations over two legs.

The first leg is scheduled to take place in Annaba on Friday, March 24, with the second leg set for the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi on Tuesday, March 28, 2023.

The winner of the two-legged tie will join seven other teams for the tournament in Morocco in November of this year.
